What a week... The week of lots of changes. I have a new companion, Elder Garcia from El Salvador. He's got a year on the mission and I met him when he got to the mission. We're already best buddies. :) We had exchanges with the Assistants this week. They work in the area right next to ours and they contacted a family that lives in our sector, so we had exchanges to meet the family. I got to work with Elder Tanner again! As a refresher, I lived in the same house with Elder Tanner about a year and a half ago when I arrived to the mission in the city of Temuco. So, we talked a little bit about how much we've learned and experienced here on the mission. He goes home next month. We played a great joke on Elder Garcia with the Bishop's son. We pretended that the Bishop's son wasn't a member and was in fact a drug dealer. Elder Garcia almost died. :) We're tired, but we're happy. Don't forget everyone to read your scriptures and have meaningful con...

It's been a good week

It's been a good week. A little long, but we felt good. We're really excited about Mara, a lady with lots of troubles and her whole family is adventist. But, she's been coming to church and showed a lot of interest in going to the temple with the ward this week. That would be an awesome experience for her. We're also working with a college student named Maria Jose whose mom died a few years back. She's a big thinker and swears,"She's never going to be mormon." I laugh and we keep visiting her because she is really receptive to the things we teach her. She doesn't believe in God a whole lot, so we're having a hard time with that. I'm really excited for this week when we start a new cambio and I get to work with Elder Garcia, an elder who's a good friend of mine. I was in the same zone when he got to the mission, so I've known him since the start. :)
Working with the Old School Hey Y'all, This week we had a great baptismal service for Fernando Cuevas! He turns 12 in October, so he'll receive the Aaronic priesthood. :) As for the big news of the week: we're working with a senior couple again! The Bensons got on Saturday and showed up to church on Sunday and talked to us. "Hi, we're the Bensons, we're going to be attending your ward." Pretty legit, right? We're excited to have them. They'll be working in the office, so we won't see them much apart from Church on Sunday. Good times. :) We went to a birthday party for our neighbor, Jorge, who turned 16 this week. :) It was a good time, but we left early to visit a few more people. Don't forget, Men are that they might have joy and wickedness never was happiness. Therefore, being slothful is not happiness. 2 Nephi 2:25 Alma 41:10 D&C 58:26-27 Remember to read!!
Master the tempest is raging Hey Y'all, It's quite impressive how different the weather is here in Talcahuano. The roof in the church literally fell apart on Saturday, shortly after Judy and Jorge's baptism. The floor in the chapel was soaked on one side on Sunday, not that we needed more space. Only about 60 people came to church because of the gigantic storm we had that basically killed Talcahuano. ;) The most impressive stat about this weekend: Winds up to 120 Km/h (72 mph). Pretty impressive, huh? We lost power and we visited several houses that the power was also cut. Fun times. We didn't accomplish a whole lot in finding people to teach, but we definitely had a good time with those people in our sector. :) I had the privilege to confirm Judy on Sunday, despite all of the tempests outside that almost killed us on Saturday. Oh, did I forget to mention the tin roof that almost sliced our heads off? Fun times. :) Don't worry, nobody was hurt by an...

Rain, Drunks and kisses...Enough Said

Hey Y'all, It´s a rainstorm here in Chile! We´re getting soaked just about every day and it´s a great time. :) We´re entering winter here and Elder Pantoja, my companion, is basically dying because of how cold it is. Haha, but we have a good time while he´s bundled up in front of the stove. While walking down the road the other night, we found a man who was baptized by the elders about 5 months ago. But he has returned to his drinking habits and we´re trying to help him come back to church. But he is very touchy...very touchy...His name is Jorge. He lives with his mom. It´s great. :) I hope you´re all reading the scriptures daily. You have goal. Read the Bible. Entirely. :) Go for it!´´

No email this week?

To all, There was no email from Dale today, which usually means a zone conference ate up P-day and we will get a very short note tomorrow. Here is some news from the phone call last Sunday. Dale will come home Oct 23rd or Dec 4th, depending on whether they honor his request to stay an extra transfer. If any of you cougars know what I need to do to get him registered for next January, let me know. Dale is now in Talcahuano, the only city in the Concepcion South Mission that is actually north of Concepcion. Once again, he lucked into a coastal town for their winter, which means he won't experience winter in the Andes. Dale is looking great, and while we miss him, we are excited that he is excited and wants to stay an extra month. Thanks to all who have kept up with Dale. I'll post his note tomorrow if we hear from him. Dad Lundstrom
Dale has transferred to Talcahuano. He only wrote quickly this week because we talked to him yesterday, but he did send a photo of Romeo, his companion, and himself. Guess which one is which!
