Gloria, In Excelsis Deo!

Dear Reader, Deck the halls with lots of students! Fa la la la la, la la la...way too many students. Here is your fun fact for the day: the Harold B. Lee Library at Brigham Young University becomes one of the busiest places in Utah during December. Students at the University are studying for finals, meeting up with their groups for the final projects and getting those last minute tips from their tutors. They are all in the library. Today I could not find a spot to sit! There is no need to fear, faithful reader. The floor can be a great place to write, as long as there is a wifi connection that provides communication with you. I realized that this Blog was visited for the 8000th time this week. What a great Christmas present! Thanks to my mom for the 7999 visits! Thank you, dear reader, for the 8000th. I figured that between this milestone and the Christmas season, today is a good day to share my view on Christmas and the reason for the season. So go ahead students, take a break fr...

The Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave

Dear Reader, Happy Independence Day! I don't like to say, "Happy 4th of July!" because I like to remember why we commemorate the holiday. It is a great day to remember what freedoms we have in our country and what has been given to achieve and maintain those freedoms. In the Lundstrom Family, Independence Day weekend is also significant because we make time for our family reunion. What is that like? Allow me to elaborate on our fun-filled days together. Imagine this: 94 cousins, brothers, sisters, moms, dads, children, grandmas, grandpas, aunts, uncles and any other relation you can think of. Add $60-worth of fireworks, 25ish rubber balls, a couple of soccer balls, a Frisbee, card games (Phase 10, Uno, etc), a park, some cones, horse shoes, softball, a BBQ, a couple hundred water balloons, some water guns, 3 blow-up pools, enough food for the people mentioned above, a hammock, and a plethora of chairs. Fit all of this into a 48-hour period. That is just the beginning...

I'll Go Where You Want Me to Go

Dear Reader, Today is the birthday of one of the greatest people I know. Here is a list of things that another friend wrote about her a couple of years ago: "The Greatest Person Is..... I'll give you some hints. She's a GIRL She makes delicious Ham Fried Rice She meets her commitments She's dependable She understands my humor She is easy going She is aware of others She makes life fun She is a hard worker She's ambitious She loves the Lord She's very service oriented She's really pretty She's chillaxed She makes me laugh She and I can talk about whatever I've almost killed her and she still loves me Any guesses yet?? She's pretty great....basically. She's MORGAN!!" That comes from another blog written about Morgan. I edited it just a little bit so all of those things apply to me, too. Hopefully she is having a grand time on her mission right now. She is serving the Lord full time in Mexico....

Another year older and wiser too!

Dear Reader, Happy Birthday to one of my best friends! Ok, it was his birthday yesterday and I was incredibly busy all day, but he is very important so he still needs recognition. Tyler, my roommate for over a year now, is one of my best friends and we will be friends for life. It is pretty incredible how similar our opinions are on different topics of life. Let me tell you a little about how marvelous Tyler is. We have lived together for over a year and have never had a serious fight. Obviously we have had disagreements, but Tyler is so relaxed and easy-going that we have never even come close to being mad at each other. That takes talent when living with me. Tyler is also one of the smartest people I have ever met, both in books smarts and street smarts. He graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Neuroscience. He is amazing with numbers. For heaven's sake, we discuss GMAT math questions together. Pretty cool, right? He is also very wise when it comes to ...

You've had a birthday, shout hooray!

Dear Reader, I apologize for not writing in awhile. I can give a million excuses, but there is a great explanation of excuses. Someone once said that excuses are like armpits; everyone has at least a couple and they all stink. In other words, you don't really want to share them. However, there will be at least one reason for being so busy mentioned here. Her name is Lauren. Isn't she gorgeous? Today we celebrate Lauren. It is her birthday! We won't disclose how old she is today...just another year older and wiser. That phrase is not just a cliche this time. I happen to know that she has become another year older and wiser. As one of my best friends, we have learned a lot about one another and even more about ourselves.  For your information as a reader, I will share a little about why Lauren is amazing. Lauren can make anyone smile. I'm not joking. Every person I have ever seen her talk to has smiled at one point or another during their time together. Alway...
