Dear Readers,
Obviously, there are many differences between men and women in no matter what situation a person may find him/herself in. Specifically I'm talking about sports. For those who don't know, my dad is our stake athletics chairman or something like that, so he's a big part of putting together ward leagues. Tonight, I had the opportunity to participate in men and women's basketball, as a ref, player and scorekeeper. I would like to first point out that men start early on sports. In every one of the men's games, a spirit of frustration filled the room and some were close to losing their cool. In my ward's game, I'm pretty sure there was almost a fight when one of our players collided with another as he was going up for a lay-up. Women, on the other hand, are so much calmer and are carefree about whether they win or lose. I witnessed two different women's games in which the girls were so kind about playing the game and were more focused on being positive. Whatever the cause or whatever the difference, I prefer refereeing young women's basketball.
