Summer...So confusing

Dear Readers,

What a lovely season summer has come to be! Construction season! Haha, don't worry. I don't mind that so much. Summer allows for a lot of time to do many things and the only problem I see with that is what to do first!

I've been trying to get ready for a mission, which basically includes scripture study(Longer than usual) every morning and every night and study for spanish speaking(Which, I discovered while talking with someone yesterday, I need to work on incredibly hard). There are many things like getting a passport and writing letters that don't have immediate responses like reading or writing thank you notes for people who have helped me through this time.

Going out with people is hard just because everyone has jobs and they all work at different times. But hanging out with friends is so much fun and very enjoyable. We made lists of what to do this summer, but I'm kind of confused because we didn't set any dates for doing things. One of our good friends is out of town next week, so it again is difficult to plan things. We'll try to make this the best summer ever! :)

Dear Readers, Ok, so I can't fit the entire title into the title box. It's a good song, go look it up: "You make me smile." The title can apply to anyone, I've found. The rest of the lyrics would probably refer to a best friend or a significant other, but anyone can make you smile. They all have the own way of doing it. Am I Proud to Be an American?

This weekend is the 4th of July, or Independence Day in the United States of America. One of my favorite songs during this time of celebrating the country is "God Bless the USA." The words paint a detailed picture of the beauty of the United States, both in a physical and emotional aspect. Our country is often depicted in a majestic manner such as this, making it seem like the greatest in the world and we often hear those bold words, "I'm proud to be an American."  With all of the issues that have been cropping up over the past couple of years such as impeachment, systemic racism, foreign intervention, and most significantly the COVID-19 pandemic, I have reflected deeply about what we celebrate with the 4th of July. Dear Reader, Brad Paisley sings a song about how creating a totally different person when one is on the internet. It is a funny take on how people change themselves to look better on websites like Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, or whatever other sites you can think of.
