We've only just begun ...

We're teaching lots and we're talking with lots of people on the street. We talked with a lady the other day who doesn't understand why there are churches. She says all we need is the bible and God. We don't need organized religion she says. We talked with her for awhile and tried to teach her the importance of prophets on the earth but had a rough time. On the upside, I understood a whole lot of it! The highlights for the week: Jose Daniel was baptized on Sunday. We taught Cecilia about Faith and how she needs to pray to know the truth of the Book of Mormon. We had two inactive members come back to church this week. The ward has a new ward missionary who was set apart yesterday. There is a young man who has his mission call to Peru. Elder Kamalu has finished his application for BYU. We've had a great week and we'll have more!

Leaving on a Jet Plane

We got our travel plans! This time next week, I'll be sitting in LAX waiting for our flight to Santiago. Our whole district is going in the same group on the same flights, except for Elder Corliss. We don't know if he's even leaving yet. We still have 8 in our travel group, though. Elder Palmer and I had the opportunity to meet the other elder that is coming with us. His name is Elder Strait and he is the only one in his entire zone going to Chile. He got here the same week as us and is leaving the same day obviously, but he's in another zone and we haven't seen him around until we were hosting this last week. Anyway, I'll give you our schedule: We leave the MTC at 3 AM Leave SLC at 6 AM and Land in LAX at 7 their time. Leave LAX at 12:20 PM (We have 5 hours of layover) Arrive in Santiago at 6:35 AM the next morning(Chile Time). Leave Santiago at 9:45 AM Land in Concepcion at 10:50 AM to be met by Church Representatives. Elder Ahart is our travel leader, as all

Feliz Navidad

This week, yes, we did get to watch the first presidency devotional. I enjoyed the choir a lot, but wasn't too fond of the song selection. It was still beautiful, though. Elder Palmer and I have been working hard this week and we've committed Alan to Baptism! too bad we leave before he's eligible, but at least we got the commitment and the effort on his part. The lord helped us out in one lesson we had with him about the Plan of Salvation. Not a whole lot other than that has happened this week. We got rid of our older district completely, so we're the oldest now. There are a few elders in the newer district going to the Peruvian MTC a week before we leave and one sister heading off to Spain, but we're the next ones to leave besides them. The rest have to stay until next year! We're not getting a new district this week, even though our zone is down to three(small districts, too. Each one has 8 or 9) for a total of 25 people. We had our Testimony meeting this we
