Hey Y'all,
Wow, this week has been a riot. We had a challenge from the Mission President to Talk to 490 people(490 contacts) during the week. Just to give you an idea, normally we talk with about 150 new people each week. It was a challenge, but we did it. We had to literally run some people down in the streets, but we did it. :)
The Highlight for the week: Lily Got Baptized! And she and Hugo got married! Yay! We had her baptismal service after an activity in the church on Thursday and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The whole family was there, including Luis and Silvana's boyfriend. Not that you all know who these people are, but it was really cool for us. :)
We also had our first interview with the new president this week. He and I talked about the family and what we do for a living. He was an engineer before being mission president, so he likes to work with Physics and what not. It was good to have a talk with him one on one.
Joke of the week: Walmart. There's a store here in Chile called Lider. Apparently, as I heard, they were recently bought out by Walmart. So, don't worry, I'm still close by and living in the same city as a walmart basically. :)
There was another baptism this week for Claudia, an investigator of the other Missionaries that work here in the branch. It was kind of funny because we starting filling up the font late, so there was nothing we could do about the water coming out Brown. Elder Gonzalez made the comment later, Oh well, it's OK. Jesus got baptized in a river. We can get baptized in dirty water. Luckily, there was no stain on the clothes of Elder Rossi or Claudia when they came up out of the water. There's a picture there of the water.
Fun Fact: Chile was the second country to have Boy Scouts founded. England was the first to have Boy Scouts and afterwards came Chile. A little random, but it was good to talk about it with one of the Brothers here in the Branch. He and his wife are working on becoming active again in the church, so we went to visit them the other day. They are a great family.
That's about it for this week. Keep working hard all you folks that work. (That would be everyone).
