Hey Y'all,
Well, the week has been flying by, along with the cambio and the mission. Time flies when one is working hard. We've had all kinds of activities, tragedies and anything else you can think of this week, so here we go with the adventure...
First of all, I love kids. They say the darndest things and have the best questions. We visit a little Girl named Millarai and her mom, who's a member. We're going to help Millarai get baptized and work with her dad as well. Anyway, she and her little sister always make our day when we go over to visit. It is a great time to help them while they redo their house and also when talking about the gospel.
In other news, I finished up the book of Mormon for the first time in Spanish. It was a great time and I've learned lots more about why it's so important to help us understand the need for Christ in our lives. Elder Brann and I are both working on the Old Testament now, as advised by one of the general authorities in General Conference.
We also had a ward conference this week and it was complete with two other activities on Friday and Saturday before hand as well. On Friday was a ward talent night where Elder Brann showed off his contortionist skills, Fapricio played the violin, the Navarette girls sang a primary song and I translated a part of "Latter Day Night Live" sketches into Spanish to make them work. It was a great time, especially since there were all kinds of people who set foot in the church that had not been back for a long time, not to mention there were several who entered the church for the first time in their lives. It was awesome.
On Saturday there was an activity with the entire district of Coronel that was a presentation of the Articles of faith put on by the primary. it was a good time, but was very long. It was supposed to start at 3 but didn't start until 4 and ended at 7. Yeah, lots of time.
The actual conference on Sunday was a great time, except for the fact that I got tangled up as the pianist for the Choir. It was very stressful, but it came out alright. We sounded just fine.
The other activity is shown in the photos I sent. We had a day with the entire mission playing Soccer, eating hamburgers and getting pummeled by water balloons. It was a fun time when all of us came up with our t-shirts from each zone and President Martinez brought his kids to play with us as we played random games we came up with. The Zone Leaders in San Pedro came up with a weird game that is shown in one picture, where we all put our shoes in a big pile in the middle of the field. We then lined up on each side of the field and had to go find our own shoes. it was a mad house. It took about 10 minutes for everyone to find their shoes, after about 5-10 minutes wrestling around with everyone. It was probably not the best idea. But we had a great time.
Due to the activity yesterday, we find the reason why I'm writing today. I write to you to remind you to read your scriptures every day! Pray and go to Church as well! You'll find your answers! Always! They may not be what you want to hear, but you'll get one!
