Hey Y'all,
This week has been bad. Not because it was a bad week, just because Dale was in a bad mood. There is absolutely no reason to be in a bad mood. Life is pretty grand, actually. This week Dale's been lacking sleep, which is a very important aspect of his life. However, other than that his life is pretty good. His classes are going alright, he hasn't failed a test yet (We hope that continues with a test he has to take today), his roommates are the bomb, he's in a great ward, etc.
The funny thing about all of this is, sometimes when someone is unhappy, they don't like/want to be around people. It could be because they don't feel like talking a whole lot or it could be because they don't want people to be seen by others in their state of unhappiness. It's funny when you seem to run into/see people you know even more when you are feeling down and not very complacent. It's even funnier when these people tend to disappear when you're at your happiest. It's a game of "Cat and Mouse" where one person wallows in self-pity while the rest of the world is happy-go-lucky. Then, after a week, the roles switch: one is happy-go-lucky while the rest of the world is on this whim of depression.
We want to be on a happier note, so we'll go back to the song. "Don't worry, be happy." There are so many reasons to be unhappy it seems, but there's no reason why we can't be happy. One can be happy just by deciding to do so. Just as Abraham Lincoln stated, "Most people are about as happy as they make up their minds to be." Abraham Lincoln and Bobby McFerrin would have been great friends had they lived in the same century. :) We should join their club.
