One Thing

Dear Reader,

I wish it was possible to type fast enough so as to keep up with the speed my brain goes. Think how nice it would be being able to write every single word that comes across your mind, in addition to monitoring and editing those words at the same time.

This is made difficult when one thing is on your mind. One Direction sings a song called "One thing" in which they sing about how the girl has that "One thing" that no one else has. I can imagine having that on your mind would make it very difficult to be able to communicate yourself well and type as fast as you think. If that didn't make sense, don't worry. It made sense in my head.

Alas, I can only write as fast as my fingers will let me. This allows for many thoughts to drift by and soon be forgot in the vast abyss called the unconscious. I wonder where those thoughts go. Anyway, I write to you about what is going on as of late. My roommate is having an Art Show today which is really cool. His family is really awesome, too. He, my other roommate and I are going to be moving in to our new apartment today. That will be fun. It will be interesting living as six guys in one apartment. It will be the first time in a long time for me to have to arrange shower schedules in the morning. Right now I can get up anytime before 10 and get in the shower no problem. Now we will have to coordinate our class schedules and whatnot to shower in order.

In other news, there are some changes here at work as well. Today is the last day for a couple of our coworkers, Linda and Jared. I didn't get to work alongside them much, but it was a blast while it lasted. :) They are both called to serve full-time missions in the next couple months. They will be back in the MTC, just as residents and not attendants!

My social life is going to take both a positive and negative spin during spring semester. On the up side, I won't have one because every one will be gone home for the summer or on missions! On the down side, I won't have one because every one will be gone home for the summer or on missions. That's both a pro and a con because it means I will have time to do my homework but I will miss my favorite people in the whole entire world! Luckily I will still be around my awesome roommates and it will be a new opportunity to make some new friends as well. It will be a change, that is for sure.

Again, that one thing is passing through, so it is hard to type as fast as my mind thinks. Hopefully you have a good day!

You make me dance like a fool, forget how to breath, shine like gold...

Dear Readers, Ok, so I can't fit the entire title into the title box. It's a good song, go look it up: "You make me smile." The title can apply to anyone, I've found. The rest of the lyrics would probably refer to a best friend or a significant other, but anyone can make you smile. They all have the own way of doing it. Some are just funny all the time and you can't help smiling when you're around that person. I know some who take care of people so well that you just smile when they're doing something for another. Others you can talk to about your problems and no matter what they say, it seems to make sense and you feel better...thus a smile. Ok, a smile doesn't always come in that case, but people usually smile after that. Anyone can have a blonde moment and make everyone smile because of it. I'm glad I've got friends who can do all of these: have blonde moments, take care of others or have an episode of hyperactivity that you can't he...

Am I Proud to Be an American?

This weekend is the 4th of July, or Independence Day in the United States of America. One of my favorite songs during this time of celebrating the country is "God Bless the USA." The words paint a detailed picture of the beauty of the United States, both in a physical and emotional aspect. Our country is often depicted in a majestic manner such as this, making it seem like the greatest in the world and we often hear those bold words, "I'm proud to be an American."  With all of the issues that have been cropping up over the past couple of years such as impeachment, systemic racism, foreign intervention, and most significantly the COVID-19 pandemic, I have reflected deeply about what we celebrate with the 4th of July. These issues are just a few of the many that have made me wonder about the country we praise so proudly.  Am I really proud to be an American?  Thomas Jefferson wrote the candid words of the Declaration of Independence, which were th...

I Don't Wanna Be Anything Other Than Me

Dear Reader,  I work online at one of my part-time jobs. Sometimes it is required of me to look up a person's credentials or accomplishments to better fill out a description of their time on the radio. This means I do Google searches quite frequently to find their websites, their social media profiles, etc. By no means am I a guru on the world wide web, but I have been around the internet a few times. Why does any of this matter to you, reader? It matters because I have found a few things that are essential to being safe online. As much as anyone hates to admit, the persona built on the web greatly affects the actual person outside of technology. It matters because we need to review the tips on how to remain safe online regularly.  Here is a quick example of how important it is to monitor what you put online. If you put "Dale Lundstrom" into a Google search, there are 743 results as of today. A good number of those have nothing to do with me, it's true. Howe...
