Dear Reader,
Ok, So I don't how that song title is spelled nor does it have anything much to do with today's entry. I can only tie it in by saying that my job on Saturday was almost as dirty as working in London as a chimney sweep. Chimney sweeps (Like Bert in Mary Poppins who sings that song) get real dirty while trying to make life easier and more enjoyable for other people. At the Missionary Training Center, that is what we do as well.
On Saturday, that job was much more interesting than usual. In one of the classroom buildings at the Missionary Training Center, the sewage system decided that it wanted to play a game and see how much sewage it could blow out of the toilets on the bottom floor. We got a radio call about a clogged toilet, which is pretty normal. we get two or three calls a week about unclogging them. However, little did we know about the huge mess of sewage and waste leaking onto the bathroom floor and creeping into the hallway. We arrived at the site and we decided to put on sweet-looking garbage bags to cover our shoes from the disastrous backup.
After trying to clean up the leak, we soon realized that the sewage system was still playing its little game. That is when we called our supervisor, who had to come in on a morning when he does not normally work. It was a blast to haul all that water to dump it in another place. It was definitely an adventure trying to figure out what was going on. Eventually the maintenance workers showed up and put an end to the sewage games. Then it was left to us to clean it all up for about an hour.
We have a blast working there at the Missionary Training Center. It always keeps us on our toes. :)
