Dear Reader,
The lyrics from today's title comes from the uplifting film/Broadway Production Newsies. The story deals a lot with people fighting for a cause and the main characters sometimes get involved with the law. One question that keeps arising as the story unfolds is, "How is that fair?" As this week has gone by, I have thought a little about what how the law works and what we should do about it.
Thus, my question to you is this: what is justice? It is an abstract concept.
Based on that, I would really like to know what you think about justice in any sense of the word. You can comment below or send me an email or tweet at me. However, before you run off to share your thoughts, consider this other aspect of justice.
Many religious people have heard the story of a young man who took out a contract with certain terms with a debtor, including a deadline to fulfill the contract. When the deadline came, the young man had not filled the terms of the contract. When the debtor came to collect, the young man asked for mercy. The debtor asked for justice. They were at a stalemate.
Mercy and justice seem to be opposites, but in this particular story a third party was introduced and fulfilled the terms of the contract, thus providing justice and mercy to the parties asking for each. The third party was able to fulfill both, despite their opposite natures.
This third party was Jesus Christ. He payed the debts that we have and provides us mercy. However, he still asks for justice by asking us to follow his commandments.
With this in mind, tell me your thoughts about justice. What is it and how to we fit it into our every day lives? I'm really curious to see what you think.

Miriam Webster's dictionary defines justice in several different ways. One of the most prevalent meanings is "the administration of law;
especially the establishment or determination of rights according to the rules of law or equity." Although, another definition listed on the same page defines justice as the conformity to truth, fact or reason.
