Hi-ho!

Dear Readers, Today I worked on a house. The jobs weren't all that extrenuous, but my forarms are killing me. It was good work finding a sprinkler valve, scraping ceilings and walls, taking out counters, ripping up carpet and ripping up tack strip. A good day's work. Hopefully I can make it tomorrow. :)

My wife will not accompany me when I shop for clothes

Dear Readers, Today a realization came to me about clothing. With exceptions such as tuxedos, temple clothes, costumes, etc, clothes really only need to cover you and stay on your body through various activities. I have thoroughly decided that having trendy or tailored clothing is just not worth the time, effort and money unless they are for a specific purpose such as a wedding or concert. As mentioned in the title, I will not allow my wife to come with me when I shop for everyday clothing. She is more than welcome when trying on my tuxedo or clothing that matters. As for the clothing that will be in my closet/dresser, it will come out randomly as I decide to wear it and I won't pay much attention to what I own. Like I said, everyday clothing needs nothing more than to cover me and to stay on my body. Enough said.

Wishing you were somehow here again...

Dear Readers, Ok, in one sense that song title correlates with what I'm thinking about. It's a stretch, though. I guess you can apply to it to my good friends and my best friend who are all off to college this week and next. Another provocation of my longing appears in a very unexpected place: High School. I don't miss walking around the halls and feeling overwhelmed, but I've been thinking about some of my younger friends participating in the Musical "Curtains." I wish I was back in the pit and wish I could go back to Jazz Band in the mornings. This week I've been getting up at the same time I would as if I were going back. It's weird being up that early in the morning and not going off to toot my horn. Tomorrow is the hello day assembly (Don't worry, I just happened across it on Facebook) and I'm debating whether I should go see how ensemble is. Alas, I don't want to go back overall. Fond memories from Jazz and Musical preformances are en

The joys of having a dog

Dear Readers, I would just like to clarify that I love my poor puppy very much, bless his soul. Today, however, he has tried even my patience. Yes, I consider myself pretty patient. The dog has been around the house with me ever since I got up at 7 this morning. During the twelve or so hours that have passed since, he has jumped on me at least ten times. This is his way of asking to go outside to do his business. Every time he goes out, he scratches at the back door to come back in, which constitutes an annoying sound. Anyway, after all this going out all day, he peed in the kitchen. Oh, joy...he goes out constantly all day, letting me know every time. Then he doesn't let me know and just lets loose where ever he feels like. I love Joey, I really do...

Missionary time

Dear Readers, Wow, that was definitely an experience. Tonight I was invited by the missionaries in our area to go visiting with them to less active members and investigators. While we stopped by 6-7 houses, only one lady was home and she was very interesting indeed. She used to be a stand up comedian and now works in the insurance business. Her children are all LDS members and attend church regularly. While the lesson one of the elders prepared didn't seem to go over well, we had a nice long chat with her about comedy and the neighbors. The missionaries are awesome. I can't wait to go.

On the road again

Dear Readers, Today, my family and I find ourselves on a trip to Hyrum Dam. No, not Bear Lake as I thought. Apparently, I thought wrong. Go figure. Anyway, we travel to Hyrum Damn this morning to spend the day swimming with my mom's extended family.

Cooking with my best friend

Dear Readers, Tonight was well spent at the Theobald household, most of it making a wonderful dinner of chicken and cheese sauce. Yes, cheese sauce. Good stuff. These are a few of the pictures from the fun-filled night with my girl and her sisters. We also had a good time watching 101 Dalmations before going through pictures. Here are some of the pictures we took while making dinner. The Finished product The Predator The Prey Good meals and good times. Thanks to all those girls...and Sterling, too. :)

Cleaning up and coming home

Dear Readers, This week has finally started feeling like finals week because our apartment has erupted in mad cleaing and studying stages. As I write, Isaac and Christian are out studying in the back lobby, Cory is napping so he can take a test, Ryan is packing and Tyler is working on getting his stuff together. Me...well, I'm scared to leave and scared to take my tests. I talked with one of my roomies the other day about how this apartment has started to feel like home. The tests, well, I'm off to take one in about a half hour. Wish me luck.

Blessings go both ways

Dear Readers, For those who don't know, there are blessings we can give as priesthood holders in the lord's jurisdiction. Slowly I'm discovering how much that power of giving blessings is needed all around us. This semester alone I have participated in or been present for 4 blessings. Without a doubt, there is power behind these blessings for the sick and those needing comfort. The power of the priesthood emminates from those of us who are called as vessels for it. It really is the Lord's authority on the earth to take care of his children. The wards organized in college areas are built the way they are so the worthy young men can take care of the young women if they ask for the help. Take advantage of the blessings you can receive from the Lord through his servants.

Movie Night

Dear Readers, Well, now that college draws closer to an end, I draw closer to my FHE group. Although I don't necessarily like their choice in movies, I like watching movies with them. The other day we watched "Charley", the Halestorm film about a woman who meets an LDS guy and falls in love unexpectedly. Tonight, the movie of choice was "Sons of Provo." The music doesn't create the emotions one needs to survive. Actually, the most honest opinion describes how the humor in the film has no real substance. Some of the LDS stereotypes make it amusing, but the overall effect makes me feel like I'm losing brain cells; The few I have left. We'll have to have family reunions when all the boys get back from serving the lord. :)

Coming to a close...again

Dear Readers, Today was an overall alright day. I finally feel as though my FHE group doesn't judge me. I know they didn't before, but now I don't feel like it. Does that make sense? Anyway, we played a weird game where you were trying not to guess what the leader of the game was thinking. If you did guess it, they spilled water on you. We are pretty awesome apparently. Only about a fortnight left of school. Less, actually. My finals are all done on the 12th. Wish me luck!

Enjoy!

Dear Readers, I don't know if one can be perfectly happy, but I like to think one can. Happiness surrounds us every day. Every little thing during the day can generate enjoyment or joy or happiness. Enjoy life. That's my thought for the day. :)
