So Long, Farewell!

Dear Reader, I love my boss. It might be more accurate to say supervisor. Either way, he is an amazing man. Unfortunately, today was his last day at work with us in the Missionary Training Center. This week during the Mission Presidents' Seminar we have been looking upon today with joy and sadness as our loving Phil drew closer to his retirement. Over the past few days, we decided to make a scrapbook for our boss as a goodbye present. We gathered all the pictures we had of our crew from the MTC and we each made a couple of pages of our favorite memories working at the MTC. We put it all together in about 72 hours. It was amazing! Tonight we presented it to him by luring him down to his office before he left (I was a big part in the 'luring him down') to give him the present. He loves each of us so much and we all love him. Now we will be working with our new supervisor, Gayle. She is wonderful and knows her stuff. I look forward to a great summer working there with he

Unforgettable, that's what you are

Dear Reader, Just as the title suggests, I have not forgotten about you. I have just been extremely busy, thus leading to a slow increase in number of days between posts about my life. However, I write to you today just to let you know that not a whole lot has happened in my life recently. Oh, except this: MY BEST FRIEND RECEIVED A MISSION CALL TO SERVE IN MEXICO! Yeah, I'm pretty excited about that. I hope my besties give me a copy of the video they made of my reaction to her call. My mind was blown! For some reason I thought she had told me she wasn't considering a full-time mission, so I was thinking she would just come back to school in the fall. That wasn't her plan at all! I'm so glad that she has made this decision to serve the Lord full time and help others find the joy that comes from the Gospel of Jesus Christ. So, that's my life right now. My best friend is going on a mission and I'm working all the time. My life is pretty exciting, right? Th

For the longest time

Dear Reader, I will write something more intelligible later, but today I will just tell you about an artist that came to my attention today. her name is Carli Barlow. She recently left on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ, but before she left she wrote and performed songs on guitar and piano. This is just a sample of what she does. I love this song. I thought she captured this sentiment perfectly in her song.

Chim Chim Cher-ee!

Dear Reader, Ok, So I don't how that song title is spelled nor does it have anything much to do with today's entry. I can only tie it in by saying that my job on Saturday was almost as dirty as working in London as a chimney sweep. Chimney sweeps (Like Bert in Mary Poppins who sings that song) get real dirty while trying to make life easier and more enjoyable for other people. At the Missionary Training Center, that is what we do as well. On Saturday, that job was much more interesting than usual. In one of the classroom buildings at the Missionary Training Center, the sewage system decided that it wanted to play a game and see how much sewage it could blow out of the toilets on the bottom floor. We got a radio call about a clogged toilet, which is pretty normal. we get two or three calls a week about unclogging them. However, little did we know about the huge mess of sewage and waste leaking onto the bathroom floor and creeping into the hallway. We arrived at the site and

I'll be there

Dear Reader, Today is another special day! Today we celebrate the birth of another of my best friends, Kitch! I can't say in words how much I love this girl. We met back in High School and have been friends ever since. :) She and I have been the united ones in our group of friends. By this I mean we totally disowned our other friends. Haha, of course that is simply a joke. Morgan, my friend, I thank you for all you have done for me. There have been countless laughs, good discussions on life and we won't even mention how many rides I've bummed off you. My favorite experience together by far is our hike up the Y. That day was really a boost to my week and it was really great to talk about life for awhile with you. :) So, after these 5-6 years of friendship, I wish you another happy birthday! May you have a great day and an even better year! Yay for being an adult!

Is it written in the Stars?

Dear Reader, This weekend was rather eventful. I got to know some of my friends even better than you would think you could know someone in your ward. That sounds really bad. You can get to know people pretty well in your ward. Anyway, I had my first YOLO experience this weekend ('You only live once'). On Sunday night we made a night of it after tunnel singing. At our apartment complex, there is a nice little grassy area behind the pool area. Sometimes we have devotionals there because it is a pretty spot to sit. Sunday was pretty peaceful after church (I took a 3 hour nap) and I then went to devotional. Our ward devotional was held in the lounge at our complex this time, so it has nothing to do with our little grassy knoll I mentioned previously. Sorry. Anyway, I went to tunnel singing afterward, which was a great experience as always. :) Upon coming home from tunnel singing, I found my apartment filled with about a dozen people singing in our living room. That is a very

We can be together forever someday

Dear Reader, I'm a little behind on my writing it seems. The song for today comes from a video produced by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints about our purpose in life. I thought of it while attending my friend's wedding reception on Thursday evening. She and her husband (Well, they are getting married in a few hours) are very  good together. It was nice to get together and see them and all of their family. :) One of the best parts about that evening was getting together with my best friends. I have no idea where I would be without them in my life. We are kind of separated across cities at the moment, but that doesn't stop us from having fun along the way in our busy lives. We laugh and talk about our troubles and are generally loving with each other. I love them dearly. I have to say that I look forward to taking the step that my friend and her husband are taking this morning. They are getting married in the temple by the priesthood authority of God. Tha

This Girl is on Fire!

Dear Reader, Actually, no girl caught on fire during the making of this entry. However, some unfortunate marsh-mellows did in fact die. They were decimated by flames at the hands of a monstrous villain: Matt. Haha, before I keep going with all these fire references, I will explain what is going on. The other night we went with some friends in the ward to make a fire in the canyon. We roasted marsh-mellows, of course. This was one of those times where I came home from work without even an inkling of a plan for the night. However, I ended up going on a run, chatting with one of my best friends and going to this bonfire. Early on in the evening, I thought to myself, "Man, I just want to be by my lonesome tonight." Then I realized that being by yourself is not nearly as much fun as a night out with good friends. I want to thank McKenzie, Jenna, Carli, Katie, Gabby, Dallin, Matt, Eric, Felicia, Josh, Katiemarie, Christa, Mishay and everyone else for making it such a fun night.
