Hey Yall, Yeah, so this has been quite the week. I have to tell you that I am being taken care of by the higher power for sure. There´s no denying it. There is a lot that I´ve learned over the past few days; some things funny and some things meaningful. Starting with something funny, I am convinced that there is a Chilean Equivalent for every person I know. The Chilean Equivalent this week is exactly like my good friend Mabel Draper. Yesterday we met the sister of a member family named Lesli. She looks, sounds, and acts exactly like Mabel. It´s uncanny, really. I´ll get a picture to compare if I can. Something else funny I learned yesterday. You know that stuff called fry sauce that supposedly exists in Utah? We made it last night at an investigators house. Here they call it ´Sausa Americana´. Angelica, the lady that is investigating, started to put ketchup in a bowl and I thought, “that's funny. It looks like she´s going to make fry sauce.” and then she did. Miracles
Hey Yall, Wow, what a week that just flew by. It is amazing what happens when we work hard in our sectors. I feel as though just a couple of days ago I was in Millahue with Elder Garcia. Now here I am in Santa Barbara, the Zone of Southern Los Angeles with Elder Bustos. He is from Columbia and he is really funny. He is always making jokes and getting the people around him to smile. He, like Elder Garcia in the last cambio, has two cambios left; this one and the next. So we could stay together for two cambios or split off. This cambio anything could happen, really. First of all, Happy St. Patricks day! It didn't cross my mind on the 17th, but the next day I realized what day it was. Luckily, nobody here knows anything about that holiday, so nobody pinched me. When I explained it to Elder Bustos, I realized something else. I could very well be the only person who speaks English here in Santa Barbara, a little pueblo of a few thousand people outside of Los Angeles. I could be the only
Hey Yall, Yeah, it seems as though you all already know about cambios (as they are called in the only celestial mission) and kudos to those who said I´m leaving. I have to get up and head the bus terminal early for a three hour trip to...the Zone of Los Angeles Sur! I´m going to a tiny little town called Santa Barbara, about an hour or two south east of Los Angeles. Chile, that is. Los Angeles exists in almost every country, so I thought I´d clarify. Elder Garcia was born in Santa Barbara (in his mission) so he´s been telling me all the good stuff about it. He´s also given me names of converts there so I can visit them and hopefully talk with their friends, too. Supposedly the Branch is about 25-30 members, so there´s a lot of work to do. Not much to report other than that. I had an interesting experience when I thought I saw Mr. Bateman. There was this big Chilean dude that looks exactly him. I thought it was pretty funny. That happens a lot. I see people that are
Hey Yall, First of all, we found a Muslim while tocando puertas (knocking on doors) the other day. He opened the door, greeted us in Hebrew and said he was Muslim and didn't want to hear our message. To say the least, it was interesting. I met this Muslim was while I was on an intercambio (exchanges) with Elder Lusk. He's got one cambio (transfer) more than I do and I went to work in his sector for a day while our District Leader, Elder Laurito was working with Elder Garcia. It was the first time that I have worked outside of Millahue for real, so it's a great experience. It won't seem as cool next week when I'll most likely be in a new sector with a new companion. Speaking of which, yeah. Cambios (transfers) are next week. I'll most likely be going to a different place. I've been here in Temuco for two cambios and Unless Elder Garcia leaves for some reason, he's going to leave the mission here. Thus, I either have to leave this cambio or stay
