Hey Yall, Before anything else, I must tell you what happened with my wallet. All I lost were the credit cards, my Chilean identification, and some photos. Maybe about 5 bucks in cash. Nothing much. What we know happened is this: Elder Rossi and I hopped on a bus because we were late for an appointment with someone who was getting baptized the next day. I sat kind of weird on the seat and in addition I don't think I put my wallet in my pocket all the way. So, we are almost absolutely certain that it slid out of my pocket when I stood up quick to get off the bus. When I went to buy a snack about an hour later, it wasn't there. So, we're almost positive that it stayed on the bus. We filed a missing objects report with the Caribineros (The police here) and we're just hoping that all comes back to me. If not, oh well, it's ok. However, my wallet happened to take this little vacation at the end of the month when we don't have much money. So, I'm s
Hey Yall, Well, I am surprisingly happy. Not that I shouldn't be, it's just surprising how much happiness there is. Not to mention it only gets better. :) Attached are the pictures from last week's adventure to Chiflon del Diablo. Elder Wood is the one in the picture with me. He's a newbie from Canada, about a month fresh from the MTC. He's cool. As for this week, there's not much to tell, but it´s pretty cool what did happen. :) Elder May and I are pretty excited. First of all, Elder Rossi. Last week I mentioned he had problem with his Molar in the back of his mouth. This week his face looked like a plum. We all thought it was pretty funny. He and I went to Concepcion twice this week for Doctor's appointments. Here's what happened: apparently he had a cap on one of his molars that was pinching the nerve under the tooth. That's why the moler was hurting in the first place. Afterwards, they took out the nerve and he got an infection, so that'
Hey Y'all, There are several great stories to tell this week. Everything from rescuing animals to war-like behavior in the streets. Everything related to medicine and the mission. We've got it all. First off...Congratulations Amelia and Curtis! My Brother got married this week and I was there. Literally. Cool, huh? The cool story...We spent the day in a mine. A real mine. A coal mine. Under the Pacific ocean. haha, this morning we went as a group of 35 or so missionaries to "Chilflón del Diablo", an old mine in Lota that provides tours. We learned all about the life of miners back in the day and life of miners now. We went about 125 meters or so under the surface of the earth to see how life as a miner is and to take pictures in the dark. It was a grand experience. :) Other awesome story: I saved a puppy. No, I didn't take him home. What happened? A mother decided to just start giving birth to her puppies in the middle of the street, so she
Hey Y'all, Wow, this week has been a riot. We had a challenge from the Mission President to Talk to 490 people(490 contacts) during the week. Just to give you an idea, normally we talk with about 150 new people each week. It was a challenge, but we did it. We had to literally run some people down in the streets, but we did it. :) The Highlight for the week: Lily Got Baptized! And she and Hugo got married! Yay! We had her baptismal service after an activity in the church on Thursday and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The whole family was there, including Luis and Silvana's boyfriend. Not that you all know who these people are, but it was really cool for us. :) We also had our first interview with the new president this week. He and I talked about the family and what we do for a living. He was an engineer before being mission president, so he likes to work with Physics and what not. It was good to have a talk with him one on one. Joke of the week: Walmart. There&
Hey Yall, Well, we've had a pretty good week as far as fun experiences go. We cleaned up the house a lot and now have a table we play cards on (Don´t worry, monoply deal. We don't play poker or anything). We had a couple of great lessons with people this week, but the work is still a little slow. It's like that right now because our investigators aren't going to church. We could start putting goals for baptism with them, except their not coming to meet the people in church like the branch president. However, we have several people that we are very excited to be working with. The other day we met Israel and Fabian, who said they spent time with the missionaries a few years ago before they disappeared. We went back the other day and the family is great. We met Judy, Fabian's wife, and their kids. They are a very loving family that wants to understand everything, so we're trying our best to help them. :) We also went up the hill in our sector again the other day. W
