The Dead know nothing

It was kind of ironic how things happened this week. We knocked a door of an Adventist and started talking with her and we were talking about Baptisms for the dead. Her dad interrupted and started bashing on us about the Sabbath day and what not, but his daughter was still asking lots of questions about the Dead. She kept asking us why we do it if the dead don´t know anything, as mentioned in Ecclesiastes in the old Testament. I didn't know how to respond to her in that moment. The ironic thing is that we helped one of the Sisters in the branch afterward when she was putting a headstone on the grave of her husband. While we were there in the cemetery it was just amazing to me that if the Dead know nothing, why do we go through so much trouble to make a good resting place for them, to bless and dedicate it, etc? It was a great testimony builder that there is a life after this one and that our loved ones that have passed away are not so far away from us. Keep r
Las Dificultades y Felicidades de La Vida(Y de La mision) Hey Yall, This week has been a dousy. We had a conference in Los Angeles, which is quite a trip for our zone of missionaries. On Wednesday there were 9 missionaries that all stayed in the same house in Victoria to travel the next day to LA. We had a good time talking about every little thing we can do in our zone and our lives at home. It was a good time the next morning when everyone was fighting for the shower. I showered the night before. :) Elder Rabanales is progressing lots. He gave a talk in Church on Sunday about Tithing and it was great. :) We´re visiting lots with Natali, our good friend who is working on being baptized, thus receiving the remission of sins through Christ´s Atonement and receiving the Gift of the Holy Ghost. Now, I mention all of that in detail because that is our vision as children of God. Our goal is to live with God again, which can only be done by being baptized by someone hold

Training and being Trained

Hey Yall, Well, this week has been a dousy with remembering back to my first few weeks here in Chile. Elder Rabanales, my kid, is adjusting to things pretty much the same way I did. It´s nice to think back on the first few weeks I was here working with Elder Kamalu and the things he taught me. We´re working hard with a young mom named Natali. She´s great. Her Grandma is a very faithful member from a city in the mission to the south of us and she knows a lot about the Church. We´ve invited her to be Baptized and she says she wants to be sure that she´s ready. We´re going to make sure she´s ready. ;) Something funny we wanted to mention last week was Elder Thomas diving into our savings. We have a jar full of 10 peso coins and he decided to dive into to it in order to buy about 1500 worth of food. Fun times, right? Hope you all have a good week! Read your scriptures every day! Even if it´s only 10 minutes. :)
