Business

Dear Readers,

Well, high hopes that you all have had a wonderful week. This week has been a fun-filled yet busy week. The biggest reason for that is the musical out at Hillcrest High School called 'Curtains.' Now, I feel pretty priveleged to have played in this musical in which I knew no one. You see, the choir director over at Hillcrest is a long-time friend with our band-director and she asked if he and another trumpeter he knew could come play in the pit for 'Curtains.' Our esteemed director asked me and now I feel extremely professional because I have played in a musical that did not have anything to do with me. Playing in the pit has been a pleasure and many thanks go out to the directors and cast at Hillcrest and especially the new friends I have from the Pit Orchestra.

While we're throwing out thanks, I have to include my two bestest of friends who gave me the pleasure of going out to ice-skate. Thank you guys for being the best! :D They also came to the production at Hillcrest. They make me laugh and never cease to amaze me.

Another part of the busy week (A big part) involved the Vocal Ensemble at school. Our talented director always plans great shows for us to put on, but the rehearsals for them are not always a piece of pie. It helps when you get paired up with wonderful girls to sing with. One show we are putting together has a Christmas collage with many Christmas songs being sung by the ensemble, including a rendition of the Chipmunk's Christmas song and Christmas RAP. My part in this collage is singing parts of 'The First Noel' with Katherine. She has a wonderful soprano voice and I'm pretty sure I'm only there to provide background. :) Her and Amy always make rehearsals fun and I thank them for that.

Just as a reminder to those out there in the preforming business, it's not 'Just a Business' as Carmen Berstein says. Performing is how the world receives joy and vents the issues of today with no repercussion. Have a wonderful day!

The words paint a detailed picture of the beauty of the United States, both in a physical and emotional aspect. I like Happiness

Dear Readers, Happiness is great, don't you agree? Just the other night, it was a very frustrating and confusing night out with the Ensemble yet again, but I came back to my friend's house to hang out and just decided that being happy was more important than giving in to my gossiping desires. The rest of the night was just brilliant after I decided that. This morning was another example: I woke up late and was again frustrated. What did I do? I went to school and decided to be happy. The rest of the day went great! Be Happy! :D

When You Wish Upon a Star

Dear Reader, One short day in the [Segovia] City! It is a beautiful city, to be sure. As part of our study abroad program in Spain, our group takes various trips to different cities here in Spain to see museums, palaces and history from several different eras of humanity. Today it was a pleasure to travel to Segovia. We had several adventures while we were there. First off, we stopped off at the Palacio de la Granja (Palace of the Farm). It was an attempt to replicate the Palace of Versailles in France back in the 18th century. We weren't able to enter the palace itself, but we spent about an hour walking around the numerous gardens on the south side of the palace. The palace gardens awesome. The pictures taken here don't do it justice. The gardens stretched father than you can see and the statues were absolutely beautiful.
